Baked Tofu
Ingredients
16 ounces firm or extra-firm tofu (fresh or frozen and thawed)
Soy-honey marinade
2 Tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
2 Tablespoons vinegar (cider, rice or balsamic)
1 Tablespoon honey or brown sugar
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil (try sesame oil)
Soy-lime marinade
⅓ cup low-sodium soy sauce
⅓ cup lime juice
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil (try sesame oil)
Directions
- Wash hands with soap and water.
- With a cloth or paper towel, press water out of the tofu and cut how you choose: triangles, cubes, slices or sticks.
- Mix marinade ingredients in a bowl. Add tofu and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Drain tofu and place pieces on a baking sheet. Foil on the baking sheet makes clean-up easy.
- Bake until the tofu is firm and lightly browned, about 30 minutes. Turn pieces once during baking.
- Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours.
Notes
- Try Baked Tofu instead of meat in tacos, stir-fries or skillet meals.

This recipe for baked tofu is delicious! I tried the soy-lime marinade which was great. I usually use soy sauce with tofu, but the addition of the lime gave it a refreshing taste. I used super firm tofu and that helped me cut down on the prep time and I liked the texture a lot. I served with jasmine rice and Food Hero's Roasted Asparagus.
I've made this for my family about 8 times, and have tried each marinade. We have a vegetarian in the house and this one is a big hit with everyone!
These are so delicious! We served them to 4th grade classes in multiple schools, over 400 students tried them, and they were a huge hit. We used the soy/lime marinade and extra firm tofu. Very easy to make and tasty.
LOVE THESE! So few ingredients and so quick, plus little clean up, you can put the tofu on anything or eat it plain like my small kiddos like! Never any leftovers....we do use a 12oz package of tofu so either cut down the recipe or use the extra sauce on our rice or stif fry for the night....
