I tried the Food Hero Apple Bar recipe today. It tasted yummy, but it was soft and crumbly, and spread out sort of flat, even after cooling them completely. They didn't really hold a bar shape - lots of straggly oats falling out of the mixture. I'm curious if adjusting the amount of oats, of fiddling with the ratio of dry ingredients to wet ingredients might help crisp them up?
I made these Apple Bars today they are delicious I recommend using more fruit than the recipe says and even cutting the pieces in half if preferred. I recommend this treat 100%
I made this recipe today and they did not set up as bars. More like a crumble. I followed recipe to a tee and baked for 40 min. The recipe resembled the Winter Fruit Crisp in crumbliness. Any suggestions?
Regardless, it was a HIT with the kids at the summer club I served it to.
These apple bars make a tasty treat. We have used pears and plums, too.
