⅓ cup chopped almonds or other nuts or seeds
⅓ cup peanut butter
3 Tablespoons honey (see Notes)
⅓ cup dried cranberries or other dried fruit

Directions

  1. Wash hands with soap and water.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients until well mixed.
  3. Form about 2 Tablespoons of mixture into a ball and place on a baking sheet. Repeat with remaining mixture to make 16 balls.
  4. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Notes

  • Honey is not recommended for children under 1 year old.
  • To avoid sticky fingers, keep the oatmeal balls cool until ready to eat.
  • Use sunflower seed butter or other nut butters instead of peanut butter.

Comments

You can also spritz your hands with non-stick spray before rolling to avoid getting any sticky mess on your hands. Another option is too dampen your hands with water before rolling; keep a bowl of water next to you.

Kids hands get sticky when making this, so we used plastic gloves to avoid the food sticking to their hands! The recipe was a hit, and so easy to make.

These taste like a gourmet trail mix and there are so many ways you could make them, different nuts, different dried fruits, even add a bit of coconut.  Plus they take minutes to make!
