Oregon EFNEP and Food Hero

The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is a federal nutrition education program funded through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered through the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA).  EFNEP improves the health and well-being of limited-resource families and youth.  Program participants acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes, and changed behaviors that support healthy eating and active lifestyles consistent with the current Dietary Guidelines for Americans.  Oregon EFNEP is administered through Oregon State University Extension Service and is currently active in eight of Oregon’s 36 counties, including delivering programming with Food Hero.
